Man vs Corona

Hello good people.

This year, I’m determined to go and get around and not sit in the flat. Yes, I don’t get bored in the flat but I feel the need to get out and about.

I may be defiant but I’m not stupid. I’ll take precautions but I’m going on a train up north soon and a cruise in May.

Please folks, be cautious but begin to enjoy spring.

Yours obdurately, Steve

Hi Steve

I don’t know what to think about Corona, as well as MS I am on methotrexate injections for RA and to top it off my poor hubby is in hospital because he has had a heart attack! It never rains but it pours springsnto mind.

You take care and enjoy all your planned adventures in the Spring.

Steve You may have your plans taken out of yr hands. All forms of transport are slowly closing down. We need to enjoy Spring I agree. But it may be in our own back gardens and not further afield. Personally. I know a cruise would be a very bad idea right now. They are just petrie dishes. Good luck

Think Anon is right Steve …Please stay safe. You are a good friend to lots of people on here , we would all be sad if you got poorly. Michelle and Frazer xx

You need to stay indoors for some time.I think your cruise in May will be cancelled, sorry to say.You don’t want to put yourself in danger after all you have been through this last few month.I know you have plans Steve but with whats going on you may have to think again.

Steve I can fully understand your need to get out and about, especially after all you’ve put up with over the last year or so. I felt very much like you did but following a visit from my daughter I’ve had to look at my options again. I’m like you in that I enjoy being at home and never get bored.

I also think your cruise may be positioned, I’m sure you do too somewhere deep down, but this virus can’t carry on forever. Maybe you can learn Norwegian inn the meantime?

Do what makes you happy, you are sensible about the realities, life has to go on.

Hiya. All the cruises are cancelled, as you probably know by now.

My bro in law has lost his 70th birthday caribbean cruise. He is gutted…but did get a full refund…even on his insurance.

The thought of staying in for so long is daunting indeed.

I agree Boudica. Staying in doesn’t bother me but the thought that it could be for at least three months is a bit daunting. I went into the village this morning for bread and milk and everyone was lovely saying they’d deliver anything I needed, I only have to phone.

Living in a small village means you have no privacy but on the other hand they know I have ms and encouraged me to go home and between them and my lovely neighbours I don’t need to leave the house.I. 'm a very lucky person.

Seeing my mum who’s 73 and knowing I won’t see her for a while again was a bit tough. We’re very close but very independent and agreed that 3 months together in my little house might cause us to fall out. I know we can phone each other but it’s not the same is it? She doesn’t use the internet so video messaging is not possible. At least I have that with my daughter and friends.

Take care

Cath

Thanks for the replies. I’ve cancelled both the cruise and the trip up north. If you imagine in times gone past, some people never left their village or town. Here we are, briefly in early Georgian times.

Steve

I can only imagine your disappointment Steve. You were really looking forward to going. I hope that once this nonsense is over you can book it again and maybe you can go for longer as you might be able to save up by not going out and about. I’m hoping I can save a bit now I’m in hibernation.

Take care

Cath

You will need to save up, horribly expensive in Norway!

I love village life, in fact I phoned out old next door neighbour (moved due to HS2) she is self isolating, really miss Jean,or as hubby calls her 'Old Woman ’ makes her laugh!
