Guardian Today

Hi everyone, interesting!
Pauline.

Pauline, that’s actually a better piece than the BBC’s

The way I read it, it was for SPMS but not PPMS but it’ll be interesting to see what happens with trials.

I’d love to know which type of MS this is really for…I’ve read articles saying SP and other articles saying PP! Let’s hope it will help both. Nina

There was an informed view in the Barts & London blog this morning.

Hi Whammel, cheers for the link I have bookmarked. If I’m right they found that the side effects were minimal during the trial.

Pauline. P.s there is also reference to simvastin on this site.

Hi, I was on that statin when I first went on statins about 3 years ago. Had to come off it after a few weeks as it really made my legs ache badly. Was put on another statin which I’m still on. I seem to have the complete opposite response to drugs than other people. I now think that the tinnitus is lower when I take ibuprofen… loads of links on web say that ibuprofen CAUSES tinnitus! Hey ho… Pat xx

Hi Snowlepord, this as you know was the main side effect that would worry me already got aching legs, I was going to stop reading about it when I saw this, As for ibuprofen it plays havoc with my stomach,I have mastoiditis in my r.ear had two ops over 20years, apparently this is why it took so long for my m.s to be detected as similar symptoms to ms, not the fact that I didn’t get an MRI scan till Dec 2013.

Hi Pauline. Don’t let that put you off trying it…might not make your legs ache. The article about it on Facebook from MS Society says it’s for SPMS… It should be stone where on this site. I’ll see if I can find it. Pat xx

Here’s the info from this site. In above post, ‘stone where’! Blame ipad… http://www.mssociety.org.uk/node/657745 Pat xx
