Anyone relate to this

Unable to get up off sofa without pushing self up with right hand. Consequently my arm and shoulder are pretty painful in bed and it is hard to turn over. I also experience a good deal of pain in my knees on standing, also left knee pain and stiffness in the evenings. Generally my legs feel ‘tight’, not so flexible. Bit of difficulty getting up the stairs but nothing catastrophic. general weakness, subjectively, in my arms and legs. i am definitely not so good as a year ago. When I saw the neurologist in March he made it plain that there was no treatment and that my scan was not the usual MS presentation, so I did take it he was thinking primary progressive but oh I must have had it for years.

Hi, why not have your sofa put onto raised legs? An OT sorted that for me and it helped a lot.

Baclofen should ease the stiffness in your legs.

Probably worth getting a physio to take a look at you and see if there are any muscle strengthening exercises that can help.

You could ask to be referred to community physio and occupational therapist for assessment, advice and possibly equipment to help

Thanks for the responses. I am actually open to the physio at present. I don’t really want raisers put on my sofa and think if I had to I would simply rather go for a higher one or new chair. I was caring for a 3 and 5 year old yesterday and today I feel like my legs have lead weights attached and oh so tired. I value being part of this community.

I was going to suggest Baclofen but Boudica beat me to it
