I’m hoping someone can give me some info on the lumber puncture results. I had my LP almost 3 weeks ago, heard nothing so phoned my GP results line. I was told there was ‘no further action required’ but she couldn’t clarify what that actually meant. Any ideas? I’m thinking it was a negative result for MS but symptoms are slowly getting worse. Now have to wait for my doctor to phone and explain but fretting a bit. Any help/advice is appreciated. TIA
Sounds to me like a negative result but frustrating that they didn’t just state so clearly. Do you know when the doctor is likely to call you?
No idea. They aren’t the quickest for getting back. I have had 2 MRI’s at the beginning of the year which showed demyelination in 3 spots so it’s a bit confusing. I’ll phone the doctor again next week if I don’t hear anything. Thank you for the reply
Yeah definitely keep chasing them. It’s such a chore but I always find I end up having to chase things up! Fingers crossed for a good result for you xx

Hi, it doesnt always follow that even if we have brain lesions, we will have something showing on an LP. You can have one without the other.
Does sound like a negative result to me.
