I don’t know whether to call this a little thing or a really big deal, but my uncle surprised me the other day with a new bathroom sink. He’s 75 and flips houses every now and then. I’d mentioned months ago that I’d like to replace my gigantic, room-hogging sink cabinet with a pedestal sink, and that’s what he brought me! He installed the new one, hauled the old junk away, and I can’t believe the difference it’s made in the amount of free space.
The room was so small that there was literally just a walkway in front of the toilet and sink, with the bathtub smack up against the sink cabinet. The tub itself is too long for the room and ends inside the linen closet. He’s been concerned all along about my ability to fit a wheelchair in there when the time comes, so while he was here he also checked all the possibilities for widening the door frame and adding support rails to the walls. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he showed up in a couple weeks to do just that! I am so happy right now!
