lts Vitamin d3 again...........

For many years l have been interested in Vitamin D3. And have been taking - what l thought was a high dose supplement.

10,000ius daily for many years - then 20,000ius. l regularly have my levels checked -via CityAs says Lab B/ham. And so far my levels have not exceeded 98nmols.

Recently, l have been interested in following Dr Coimbra - Brazillian neurologist who for about 10yrs has been treating patient with auto -immune diseases with a high dose vitamin d3 protocol.

You need to adjust the amount by your weight. So the dosage varies from one person to another. Too much calcium is the main problem. So you have to cut out all dairy. Also nuts. l take magnesium and K2 - as vitd3 needs magnesium.

This is a link to a lady in Australia - her blog puts it so simply and is easy to understand - so l thought l would share this with you - Not much chance of sun rays today - its dark and raining.

That’s really interesting - I had been taking 5000IU daily for a couple of years - then did a blood test which registered greater than 175 and I was advised to reduce the dose…however this suggests otherwise…

lf your test was done at your GP’s - they usually add the D2 D3 together. The one done at CityAssays is more comprehensive and a easy to do postal service using a blood spot [pinprick] test.

You will find out if you read this link how dangerous it is to have too much calcium - kidneys and heart can be damaged. This shows how important it is to take magnesium along with vitd3. And vitk2. Dairy free diet.

More and more neuro’s from different countries are going to Brazil to learn about Dr Coimbra s vitd3 protocol. Nobody is making ‘loads of money’ out of it - as we know how cheap vitd3 is to buy. So there will not be any big pharma hype along with it.

So do read as much as you can - and if you want to start getting your d3 tested regulary then 0121 5074278 CityAssaysLab =£28.

I did a postal bloodtest D (25-OH) …I may need to ditch the dairy then …seeing MS nurse soon so will share and enquire …thanks for the info

This is interesting spacejacket. I wonder if any neuros in the UK are looking into it.

Do you know if there is a facebook group of people on the protocol ?

Yes I read no dairy or any other non-dairy alternatives that have calcium in them - even almond milk and rice milk ! No nuts either !

Moyna - Do google Dr Coimbras vitamin d3 - and lots comes up - also a youtube talk. l have never been offered any treatment in 34yrs - Have no faith at all in our UK neuros. So l do all l can to find out for myself how to improve my ‘lot’.

This is something you could try whilst waiting, and hoping, for better treatment. What have we got to lose?

l am still sticking with Biotin and all the B Vits especially B12 and Thiamine- and now 40,000ius daily of D3 +magnesium L Threaonate /K2. And Turmeric and LDN.

"The notion that MS is being cured with nothing more than high dose vitamin D is dubious in the extreme. I’ve done a quick PubMed search and other than blog sites, Prof Coimbra seems to have published nothing to back up these claims in MS and until he does these claims should be viewed with extreme caution.
