Left foot pain HELP

Hi everyone

for months now I’ve had foot pain especially when I get out of bed and put my feet on the floor, initially put it down to Plantar fasciitis.

lately though I have pain only in my left foot, slight swelling too - especially when I walk, it’s changing how I walk, is this MS related? Has anyone else suffered this?

I am going to contact my GP but any advice greatly appreciated

:relaxed:

I blame everything on my MS! I don’t know if it’s related or not, but I’ve had a lot of trouble with my feet the last couple years. Mostly it’s my left one. Sometimes they swell for no known reason; for a while I thought I had a Plantar’s wart. Sometimes it just feels like I’m stepping on a small stone. I’ve actually called a child home to check the bottoms of my feet, only to find out there was nothing there! More often than not I get sudden pains in the top of the arch, almost like my foot is breaking in half. That happens most often when I’m going down stairs.

All I can suggest is to try to treat the symptoms. Keep your feet elevated when they act up, maybe soak them in Epsom salt.

i developed bed sores on my right foot all along the right side.

i sleep on my right side.

Do you sleep on left side?

Carole, just wondering if something I have discovered which saves me an awful lot of pain…could help you…

My heels refuse to be on the bed at all…it causes severe nerve pain. Nurses have tried me with silicone heel guards, sheepskin and foam ones…all to no avail.

But a carer found a stout foam box pillow at IKEA. I have 2 in one long pillow slip which I made from a very soft flannelette material.

I have my legs resting on it with my heels off it and it keeps me pain free all night!. I love how I can adjust the height I want it at , with the knee break adjustment on my bed.

Thank you my Queen Boudicca

I will have to write down your message for when I’m not sleepy and seeing double!

It sounds just the job.

I also like the sound of those air-flow knee cushions that are advertised on telly. I think they are by JML and i seem to remember Asda doing JML stuff.

I had something called Morton’s Neuroma a few years ago where every time I put weight on my right foot it felt like I was stepping on a stone, really painful! It happens when the bones in your foot are pinching a nerve but only really when you walk. I had injections between my toes and an orthotic made with a lump in it to stop the bones coming together, sounds worse than it is! Hope you find out what it is x

Hi Carole, hope it can help you.
