Loss of appetite and weight loss

I’m worried for my partner who got diagnosed 5 years ago he doesn’t have many noticable symptoms as yet, apart from the eye rolling twitching everything else he suffers from you wouldn’t even no he had ms by passing. But this year he went a full month with lack of food and then after that he just doesn’t eat hardly at all he has lost 3 stone in a few months and says he just doesn’t feel hungry… I don’t no if there’s another reason behind this. But I need to no if this is normal with ms? Because surely he isn’t getting all the vitamins he needs to help his condition from worsening?

hi

get him to the GP and ask if they will test for vitamin deficiencies.

I have lost nearly 3 stone very suddenly.

I am eating but not as much as i used to, My family have set themselves a challenge to fatten me up.

unfortunately it doesn’t involve a trip to my favourite (or any) restaurant.

so yes it could be normal for MS but get him booked in for blood tests.

Thankyou so much for your help. I have spoken to him and I’m going to get him booked into the doctors. He said they won’t help him unless he collapses or something bad he seems to think that’s the only way they will help him.

if the doctor is pro-active they will want to prevent any exascerbation (can’t spell any more, was always a good speller)of your partners symptoms.

In fact use the word pro-active yourself.

unless you have a very bad doctor, he will realise that you were right.

the help you are looking for from the doctor is nothing major, however if they do nothing then the next time they see him he will have become very poorly. therefore needing more of the doctor’s time.

Hi, I dont believe it is usual to experience rapid weight loss with MS. But if anyone reduces their food intake drastically, then I expect weight loss is inevitable.

Hope the check up proves nothing serious.Boudsx
