Carer needing advice

I have been caring for my mun for the last 5 and half years. Doctors have said that she has MS but refuse to officially diagnose her. She has had MRI scans, lumber luncture and EEG, MRI shows 7 lesions on her brain found 5 and half years ago. Since then she has been getting alot worse and is now basically wheelchair bound… doctors still won’t do anything and won’t officially diagnose her even though they have said she has MS. Doctors have said it’s policy not to give a diagnosis until after a second lot of lesions have appeared, but they won’t do any tests even though she has new symptoms which the doctors know about, but still refuse to anything… I don’t know what I can do to help her, please I need advice.

hi deanna

ask her gp to request a new MRI.

her new symptoms may show as new lesions.

is her neuro any good?

give them one last chance and then complain to PALS because they are effectively denying her a chance of a DMD.

good luck

Hi, It does sound odd that nothing else has been done to help towards a diagnosis.

I think it is a good idea to ask the GP to intervene, as Carole says.
